Theodore P. “Ted” Sherwin
Ted has been in the practice of public accounting for over 40 years. He began his career in Austin, Texas where he received his first CPA certificate. In the early 1970’s, Ted and his family moved to Anchorage, Alaska and took on all the challenges of living and working on the “Last Frontier”. Along with many others, Ted hunted and fished during his time away from the office. He and his wife, Verlie, made many friends while living in Alaska and continue to maintain and nourish those contacts.
Ted has specialized in the areas of Tax Compliance and Litigation Support. Since Alaska experiences frequent population turnover, he has become proficient in preparing returns for many states in addition to all kinds of Federal returns. Many of the clients that began with Ted in Alaska have moved to the Lower 48 and he continues to serve them. His work as an Expert Witness and Forensic Accountant led to his earning the Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) credential in the late 1990’s. He is currently licensed to practice as a CPA in Alaska, Washington and Oregon.
Ted and Verlie now spend much of their time in the small town of Washougal, Washington, just across the Columbia River from Portland, Oregon. Working together and with frequent trips to Alaska and the benefit of e-mail, facsimiles, a website and cell phones, they continue to serve all their clients and maintain the many long-term personal and business relationships that have developed over the years. At the same time, they are building a public accounting practice on both sides of the Columbia River.
